Carmynn Zhang is a Bay Area illustrator and fine artist specializing in portraiture, painting, and drawing. Dedicated to pursuing the arts at an early age, she studied visual arts at Ruth Asawa San Francisco School of the Arts high school, where she discovered her passion for creating art and learned how to communicate her hardships and struggles in her work. Her expressive brushwork and attention to detail have allowed her to explore themes of mental illness, dreams, psychology, and individual experiences.
In the last few years, she worked alongside artist Mary Corey March as an artist assistant and exhibited her artwork in galleries and public venues with ArtSpan around San Francisco. Currently, Carmynn is a full-time student at the Academy of Art University working towards a BFA degree in Illustration. She continues to grow her body of work and explore the depths of how humans heal through art.
